2 6 Se p 20 01 Barkhausen Noise in a Relaxor Ferroelectric
نویسنده
چکیده
Barkhausen noise, including both periodic and aperiodic components, is found in and near the relaxor regime of a familiar relaxor ferroelectric, PbMg1/3Nb2/3O3, driven by a periodic electric field. The temperature dependences of both the amplitude and spectral form show that the size of the coherent dipole moment changes shrink as the relaxor regime is entered, contrary to expectations based on some simple models.

Optical and electrical Barkhausen noise induced by recording ferroelectric domain holograms
Ferroelectric domain gratings with periods of the order of an optical wavelength are induced in strontium barium niobate by photorefractive space-charge fields. We measure the Barkhausen noise in current and diffraction efficiency while optically recording domain gratings and show that the two are strongly correlated in time. Significant random depolarization occurs under high-intensity illumin...
متن کاملBi:SrTiO3: A quantum ferroelectric and a relaxor
Quantum ferroelectric and ferroelectric relaxor behavior has been found in (Sr121.5xBix)TiO3. For x <0.0267, the quantum ferroelectric relationship T«m}(x2xc) 1/2 holds with xc'0.0005, and obvious hysteresis loops were observed. The polarization relaxation shows critical slowing down. At high Bi concentration, a crossover from quantum ferroelectric to relaxor behavior occurred. The coexistence ...
متن کاملDielectric relaxation modes in bismuth-doped SrTiO3: The relaxor behavior
The ferroelectric relaxor behavior in Bi-doped SrTiO3 was studied in the temperature range 1.5–300 K and up to 400 MHz. Some interesting results are shown: ~1! Typical ferroelectric relaxor behavior develops out of the other impurity relaxation modes. The ferroelectric relaxor peaks occur on the quantum-paraelectric background. The polarization irreversibility effect observed after field coolin...
متن کاملDielectric relaxor and ferroelectric relaxor: Bi-doped paraelectric SrTiO3
In this article, we report the evolution of the dielectric behavior from a dielectric relaxor to a ferroelectric relaxor with variation of Bi concentration in (Sr121.5xBix)TiO3 (0<x<0.2). In the doping range 0.0005<x<0.002, two dielectric modes A and B are induced. The temperature (Tm) where the permittivity maximum occurs for modes A and B is independent of Bi concentration and of dc electric ...
متن کاملThe origin of ultrahigh piezoelectricity in relaxor-ferroelectric solid solution crystals
The discovery of ultrahigh piezoelectricity in relaxor-ferroelectric solid solution single crystals is a breakthrough in ferroelectric materials. A key signature of relaxor-ferroelectric solid solutions is the existence of polar nanoregions, a nanoscale inhomogeneity, that coexist with normal ferroelectric domains. Despite two decades of extensive studies, the contribution of polar nanoregions ...
